2-Naphthylacetic acid is a synthetic plant hormone in the auxin family and is an ingredient in many commercial plant rooting horticultural products, it is a rooting agent and used for the vegetative propagation of plants from stem and leaf cutting. It is also used for plant tissue culture.

Aplicaciones
El ácido 2-naftilacético es una hormona vegetal sintética de la familia de las auxinas y es ingrediente de muchos productos hortícolas de enraizamiento de plantas comerciales, es un agente de enraizamiento y se utiliza para la propagación vegetativa de plantas a partir del corte de tallos y hojas. También se utiliza para el cultivo de tejidos vegetales.

Soluble en acetona (50 mg/ml) y metanol. No soluble en agua.
