Description
2-Bromopropionyl bromide is used in the preparation of cellulose macroinitiator through direct acylation of cellulose in ionic liquid 1-allyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride. It is also used to prepare 3-(2-bromopropionyl)-2-oxazolidone derivatives and bromoester terminated poly(3-hexylthiophene). Further, it is used as a macroinitiator for atom transfer radical polymerization of acrylates.

El bromuro de 2-bromopropionilo se utiliza en la preparación de macroiniciadores de celulosa mediante la acilación directa de celulosa en el líquido iónico cloruro de 1-alil-3-metilimidazolio. También se utiliza para preparar derivados de la 3-(2-bromopropionil)-2-oxazolidona y poli(3-hexiltiofeno) terminado con bromoésteres. Además, se utiliza como macroiniciador para la polimerización radicalaria de acrilatos por transferencia atómica.
Solubilidad
Miscible con triclorometano, éter dietílico, benceno y acetona.
Notas
Incompatible con el agua, alcoholes, agentes oxidantes y álcalis fuertes.
