2,4-Di-tert-butylphenol is used to study its alkylation reaction with cinnamyl alcohol in the presence of Al-substituted disordered hexagonal molecular silica catalysts. It is a raw material for phosphite anti-oxidants. The antioxidants are primarily used in the manufacture of polyolefins. It is also used as an intermediate for the preparation of UV stabilizers and in manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and fragrances.

Aplicaciones
El 2,4-di-terc-butilfenol se utiliza para estudiar su reacción de alquilación con el alcohol cinnamílico en presencia de catalizadores de sílice molecular hexagonales desordenados con sustitución de Al. Es una materia prima para los antioxidantes fosfitos. Los antioxidantes se utilizan principalmente en la fabricación de poliolefinas. También se utiliza como intermediario para la preparación de estabilizadores UV y en la fabricación de productos farmacéuticos y fragancias.

Solubilidad
Soluble en metanol, éter, acetona y cloroformo. 2,4-di-terc-Butilfenol. Insoluble en agua.
