2,3,4,5,6-Pentafluorobenzyl bromide is used as a reagent for derivatization of alcohols, carboxylic acids, sulfonamides for GC and polyfunctional thiols. It is used for the preparation of pentafluorobenzyl esters of organic acids for determination by capillary and GC. It is also used to derivatize N-7-substituted guanine adducts of DNA for determination by GC-electron capture-MS.

Aplicaciones
El bromuro de 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobencilo se utiliza como reactivo para la derivatización de alcoholes, ácidos carboxílicos, sulfonamidas para la cromatografía de gases y tioles polifuncionales. Se emplea en la preparación de ésteres de pentafluorobencilo de ácidos orgánicos para su determinación por capilar y cromatografía de gases. También se usa para derivar losa ductos de guanina N-7-sustituidos del ADN para su determinación mediante captura MS de electrones con cromatografía de gases.

Solubilidad
Se hidroliza en agua.

Notas
Mantener el recipiente bien cerrado en un lugar seco y bien ventilado. Incompatible con bases y agentes oxidantes. Almacenar a 4 °C. Proteger de la humedad.
