(±)-2,2'-Bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1'-binaphthyl plays an essential role in the organic synthesis of enantioselective transformations catalyzed by the complexes of ruthenium, rhodium and palladium. It is also employed in palladium-catalyzed arylamine coupling in the preparation of demethylthiocholchines. It is used with Cu(II) to catalyze the addition of arylsulfonamides to styrenes and olefins.

Aplicaciones
El (^+)-2,2′-bis(difenilfosfino)-1,1′-binaftilo desempeña un papel esencial en la síntesis orgánica de transformaciones enantioselectivas catalizadas por complejos de rutenio, rodio y paladio. Se emplea en el acoplamiento de la arilamina catalizada por paladio en la preparación de demetiltiocolquinas. Además, se utiliza junto con Cu(II) para catalizar la adición de arilsulfonamidas a estirenos y olefinas.

Solubilidad
Soluble en tetrahidrofurano, benceno y diclorometano. Ligeramente soluble en éter, metanol y etanol. Insoluble en agua.
