Eucalyptol is an ingredient in many brands of mouthwash and cough suppressant. It controls airway mucus hypersecretion and asthma via anti-inflammatory cytokine inhibition. Eucalyptol is an effective treatment for nonpurulent rhinosinusitis. Eucalyptol reduces inflammation and pain when applied topically. It kills leukaemia cells in vitro.

Aplicaciones
El eucaliptol es un ingrediente de muchas marcas de enjuague bucal y antitusígenos. Controla la hipersecreción de moco de las vías respiratorias y el asma mediante la inhibición de citocinas antiinflamatorias. El eucaliptol es un tratamiento eficaz para la rinosinusitis no purulenta. El eucaliptol reduce la inflamación y el dolor cuando se aplica de forma tópica. Elimina las células leucémicas in vitro.

Solubilidad
Soluble en agua (3500 mg/l (a 21 °C). Miscible con éter, alcohol, cloroformo, ácido acético glacial y aceites. Soluble en etanol y éter etílico; ligeramente soluble en tetracloruro de carbono.
