1,1,1-Trichloro-2-methyl-2-propanol hemihydrate converts benzisoxazole to α-aryloxyisobutyric acid. It forms eutectic with dimethyl sulfone, which is the most suitable media for freeze-drying due to its high solubilizing ability and a good rate of solvent removal.

Aplicaciones
1,1,1-Tricloro-2-metil-2-propanol hemihidrato convierte el bencisoxazol en ácido α-aryloxisobutírico. Forma eutéctica con dimetilsulfona, que es el medio más adecuado para el liofilización debido a su alta capacidad de solubilización y una buena tasa de eliminación de disolventes.
