Histamine dihydrochloride has been shown to activate nitric oxide synthetase and suppress or inhibit the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Inhibition of ROS by histamine dihydrochloride allows activation of T cells and NK cells by IL-2. In a rat model, histamine dihydrochloride suppressed ROS generated by Kupffer cells through the H2 histamine receptor. It is a potent vasodilator and endogenous histamine receptor agonist.

Se ha demostrado que el diclorhidrato de histamina activa la sintetasa de óxido nítrico y suprime o inhibe la generación de especies reactivas de oxígeno (EOR). La inhibición de las EOR por diclorhidrato de histamina permite la activación de células T y células NK por IL-2. En ratas, el diclorhidrato de histamina suprimió las EOR generadas por las células de Kupffer a través del receptor de histamina H2. Es un potente vasodilatador y agonista endógeno del receptor de histamina.
Solubilidad
Muy soluble en agua y metanol. Soluble en etanol.
