Sodium citrate is commonly used in nucleic acid hybridization techniques at concentrations ranging from 0.1X to 20X depending on the application.  It is used to facilitate transfer of nucleic acids to membranes in southern and northern blotting, dot blotting, and colony and plaque lifts. 

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.
