Descripción

Pyrogallol is used in hair dying and suturing materials dying. It is used as a developing agent in black and white developers, as a metal-complexing agent and is involved in oxygen absorption in gas analysis. It exhibits antiseptic properties. Its alkaline solution is used to absorb oxygen from air, thereby it plays a vital role to calculate the amount of oxygen in air.

Aplicaciones
El pirogalol se utiliza en tintes para el cabello y materiales de sutura. Se utiliza como agente de revelado en reveladores de negro y blanco, agente complejante de metal y participa en la absorción de oxígeno en el análisis de gases. Presenta propiedades antisépticas. Su solución alcalina se utiliza para absorber oxígeno del aire, por lo que desempeña un papel vital para calcular la cantidad de oxígeno en el aire.

Solubilidad
Soluble en etanol, agua y éter. Ligeramente soluble en cloroformo.

Notas
Sensible al aire y la luz. Mantenga el recipiente bien cerrado en un lugar seco y bien ventilado. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes fuertes, alcalinos, óxidos metálicos, amoníaco, yodo, agua de cal, permanganato potásico y bases fuertes.
